The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC WA) recently held a survey with 14000 participants regarding the driving conditions for each Australian state/territory. Of the total respondents, 55 percent say the standard of driving in Western Australia is the worst in all states. Some 80 percent of WA drivers claim they witness dangerous driving every day.
Sixty percent rate the standard of driving in the state as either poor or very poor. Meanwhile, only seven percent say otherwise, claiming the state’s driving conditions as either good or excellent.
Additionally, 70 percent say WA drivers are the worst at merging and 64 percent say that keeping a safe distance from other cars is a low priority for WA drivers.
RAC WA spokesman Matt Brown said the results show a need for the State Government to promote greater driver training and road awareness.
